The rules and regulations for surveyor is framed by IRDA (Insurance
Regulatory & Development Authority).
To become surveyor, a minimum training of 1 year is to be
taken from any senior surveyor.
Here the surveyor learns all the functions of surveyor like
reporting the damage caused to the vehicle, claims settlement, etc.
Then the person getting training has to send all the details
and documents to IRDA through post or mail.
Trainee surveyor has to submit the training report at an
interval of three months.
After completion of the training he has to give the
examination taken by FOII (Federation of Indian Institute).
After passing the examination the person gets the surveyor
license from IRDA.
IRDA also has the authority to cancel the surveyor license.
