How to do Vacuum test?

What is vacuum test?

·         The engine vacuum gauge measure intake-manifold vacuum.

·         The intake manifold vacuum change with load on engine the position of throttle valve.

·         Before making this test check that all vacuum hoses are connected and not leaking.

Procedure

1.       Connect the vacuum gauge to the intake manifold.

2.       Start the engine and run it until it reaches normal operating temperature.

3.       Then note the vacuum reading at idle and other speed.

How to do compression test in simple way

What is compression test?

·         The cylinder compression tester measure cylinder compression while the starting motor cranking the engine.

·         The compression tester is a pressure gauge that measure the amount of pressure and compression build up in the cylinder during the compression stroke.

Procedure
1.       Disconnect the main wire to the coil and spark plug wires remove spark plugs to conduct the compression test.
2.       Before removing the spark plug be sure the engine is at normal operating temperature and the battery is fully charged.
3.       Use the compressed air to blow any dirt out of the spark plug well.
4.       Remove the spark plug. Block the throttle wide open so the maximum amount of air enters the cylinder.
5.       Thread the compression tester adapter into the spark plug hole of cylinder -1
6.       The needle on the compression tester should show the reading of cylinder.
7.        Then test the rest of cylinder. Compression reading are usually considered as normal if the lowest reading is 75PSI and if engine compression pressure is 120PSI then all cylinder should have compression reading of 90PSI or higher.

Checking system with sight glass

  • To check condition of refrigerant while system in ON
  • On receiver drier or between condenser-expansion valve
  • Using sight glass
  1. Start engine, on A/c control to max cooling /blower& for 5min
  2. Remove cap of sight glass
  3. Note condition
  • Clear glass-good/bad correct refrigerant, No refrigerant or overcharged
  • Occasional bubbled-Low refrigerant
  • Heavy stream-very low refrigerant
  • Oil streaks-extremely low refrigerant
  • Dark cloudy-Desiccant is deteriorated/contaminants

General Steps for Recovery of Refrigerant

 Choose proper recovery unit

Check all units, hoses connection, hoses & electric connection

 Connect unit with electricity

 Turn “ON”

 Check oil level

 Connect with refrigeration system

 Connect LP & HP pipes

Open HP & LP both valve

Scale indicates amount of refrigerant came out from the system.

Auto stop when 13hg pressure will achieved & amount of gas will indicate on scale.

Drain out oil when recover is stop.

Measure oil quantity in bottle & it can reuse in the system

After 5 minute of recovery process, see the LP side gauge reading. If pressure is above 0 inch means refrigerants still in the system & it should be recover till vacuum is not crate.

Shut OFF all valve & disconnect all connection.

Sometimes refrigerant will freeze in the system due to low pressure, after some times gauge will indicate again small pressure inside the system. Means there are still some refrigerant in the system so that it will indicate do the same process of recovery of refrigerant.

A/C Maintenance And Service

Common Items that may be involved in a car A/C service:

 Air vent temperature check

• Reclaiming/Receive, recycling or replacement of operating gas

• Replacement or check of receiver drier / filter

• Adjustment of drive belts and pulleys

• Check operation of valves and thermostats

• Leak test of system lines and components

• Inspection of hoses and components

• Cleaning condenser fins

• Check unit for noise and vibration

• Check all electrical connections, controls and safety functions

• Check suction & discharge operating pressure.

Document for surveyor license

  • Application form– Form1A
  • Copies of educational qualification certificates duly notarized
  • Copy of mark sheet

How to become a surveyor?

The rules and regulations for surveyor is framed by IRDA (Insurance Regulatory & Development Authority).

To become surveyor, a minimum training of 1 year is to be taken from any senior surveyor.

Here the surveyor learns all the functions of surveyor like reporting the damage caused to the vehicle, claims settlement, etc.

Then the person getting training has to send all the details and documents to IRDA through post or mail.

Trainee surveyor has to submit the training report at an interval of three months.

After completion of the training he has to give the examination taken by FOII (Federation of Indian Institute).

After passing the examination the person gets the surveyor license from IRDA.

IRDA also has the authority to cancel the surveyor license.
